How exactly does teeth whitening work?
There are two types of staining; extrinsic and intrinsic training.
Extrinsic is basically where there is staining on the outside of the enamel which is fairly easy to remove. Intrinsic staining is where over time coloured molecules and dark pigments found in various foods, drinks and cigarettes etc. penetrate through the enamel straining deep into the dentine tubes and staining the actual dentine of the tooth. It is this process that gives your tooth a yellow/brown hue.
The science behind laser teeth whitening is not as complex as you may think, in fact the procedure is very simple; the teeth whitening gel with a neutral ph level is placed onto the surface of your teeth, the teeth whitening gel has a special formulated mineral accelerant that when exposed to the specially tuned frequency of light provided by the cold laser light creates a chemical reaction within the gel turning the teeth whitening gel into oxygen at a high rate. Today I tested the bleaching power between Beyond and Brite Smile.
I bleached half of the mouth with Brite Smile 3 times for 20 minutes, and afterwards I bleached the other half of the mouth 4 times for 8 minutes with Beyond to get the same result.
Result: Brite Smile; 60 minutes
Beyond: 32 minutes
The patient felt a lot more comfortable with the Beyond lamp because there was no heat at all. With the Brite Smile lamp the patient felt a moderate heat that was uncomfortable for him. The Brite Smile lamp also reflected partially in the eyes of the patient. Another advantage of your system is your lip retractor that kept the tongue of the patient away and was more comfortable than the other system.
We started with the colour b-92 for the lateral incisor and finished with b-59 on the Trubite dental shade guide from Densply, for the upper cuspid we started with b-96 and finished with b-65.

The Evaluation of Clinical Result on BEYOND Bleaching Technique

[Abstract] objective:
To evaluate the clinical result of the BEYOND bleaching technique.
60 patients were divided randomly into two groups. For the trial group, the BEYOND bleaching technique was used. For the control group, a home bleaching technique was used. This study compares the results of the two groups and records the impact of BEYOND bleaching to the pulp and gingival. Patients in the trial group were asked to come back half a year after treatment and the tooth shades were recorded again.
Results: the total valid rate was 100%. The results of BEYOND bleaching technique were significantly better than those of the home bleaching technique. There was no significant difference between tooth shades taken immediately after the BEYOND treatment and shades taken six months later.
Conclusion: The BEYOND bleaching technique is superior to traditional bleaching methods and is worth using and developing by clinicians.
